Anxiety disorder treatment. You might be wondering if one exists. A cure that doesn’t involve a cocktail of medication?
Yes, without the use of drugs these attacks can be stopped. It’s not exactly a “cure” but as near as you will get. You don’t get to take a spoon full of medicine and it’s miraculously cured. But you do get to stop them for good.
I suffered panic & anxiety attacks for a few years after a bad motorcycle spill. I tried all sorts of drugs to keep them at bay. I didn’t see any benefit from the drugs but I knew anyway that any help they gave me would stop when I stopped the drugs.
Therein lies the problem with using drugs to combat anxiety attacks. You can’t take medication for ever so any help you get from them will eventually be lost. I doubt very much your own doctor will want you taking medication for too long.
A worrying thought, but you will have to go ‘cold turkey’ at some point in your future. And that’s when the attacks will be back. And you know they will hit you as bad, if not worse than ever.
I think we agree that the best answer is a treatment for social anxiety that doesn’t rely on any medication. I can tell you that this treatment does exist and I use it regularly. I’ve taken back control.
I am no longer a victim waiting to be struck down at random. Well, not so much random with me because I know what triggers my attacks. If I’m in a crowd or group of about three to four people I can feel an attack starting.
It got so bad with me I would run for my life if I got near a small group of people. I did realise that it was all in my head, there was no “real” danger. Nonetheless, when I could feel panic taking hold I ran.
I did a lot of searching for a long time, hopefully for a miracle cure to stop these attacks. When the wait was over it was definitely worth it. I never heard mention of the treatment I found from any of the doctors who treated me.
You can keep on searching and hoping and in the mean time taking the drugs. Or decide to take thing in your own hands and check out what I put into action when an attack looms. I simply put what I learned into action and kill it dead in its tracks.
